Internationalisation and Distributor Search in Algeria

For a company operating in the professional catering equipment sector, specialising in refrigeration, cooking, washing and countertop solutions, we developed a commercial expansion project focused on the Algerian market.

The intervention was structured to respond to the need to identify local partners capable of managing distribution across the territory, overcoming the logistical complexities associated with direct supply to individual points of sale and private individuals.

🎯 Obiettivi

The main objective was to support internationalisation by identifying active and well-structured distributors in Algeria who were interested in expanding their portfolio with Made in Italy products. The entire strategy was geared towards creating a solid and reliable indirect sales network.

The project began with the creation and georeferencing of the Prospect Database, selecting distributors based on the product categories that the client intended to export.

All contacts were entered into a digital map to analyse the geographical distribution of retailers and identify the areas of the country with the greatest potential.

Each profile has been enriched with qualitative information – company size, type of items handled, positioning – to effectively prepare for the direct contact phase.

⚙️ Activity

Through structured telephone contact management activities, potential distributors were contacted and profiled, gathering useful information and assessing their interest in a possible collaboration.

Based on the results, a targeted trade mission was organised and planned together with the client:

  • selection of priority distributors

  • determining the most suitable period

  • sales network route planning

The sales team has been provided with all the information and materials necessary to handle meetings effectively.

  • 47 operators identified and analysed

  • Filtering out contacts that are off-target or unreachable

  • 12 business meetings scheduled with interested distributors

  • Laying solid foundations for the development of the Algerian market
